Method principle

The commonly used methods for sample evaporation, drying, concentration, and purification include:

Distillation and rotary evaporation methods under high temperature and near atmospheric pressure conditions, but only capable of processing a single sample;

The freeze-drying method under low temperature and high vacuum conditions, although sublimation can maintain sample activity, is relatively time-consuming;

Rapid evaporation at low temperatures using nitrogen blowing method, but can only process a small amount of samples, with high usage costs and complicated operation;

Evaporation under room temperature and vacuum conditions, using vacuum centrifugal concentration method, results in a faster evaporation rate of the sample solvent;

Evaporation is an endothermic process in which water evaporates from a sample, taking away the product's own heat and lowering its temperature to maintain the sample's properties and activity. But in order to accelerate the evaporation rate, the equipment needs to provide the heat absorbed for evaporation, usually through chamber heating or infrared heating, which is particularly suitable for concentrating and purifying heat sensitive biological samples or clinical drugs.

The vacuum centrifugal concentrator provides a medium rotational speed (1500~2000r/min), and the corresponding centrifugal force can prevent sample dispersion and boiling. It can be used to collect solvents in a cold trap for reuse.
